Rebecca Reilly

Live with Wonder and Joy

For Rebecca, creating art became a refuge and joy at a very young age. Her childhood home was often in turmoil. Creating art--sketching, sewing, writing, and painting--gave her life purpose and a way to escape. She found peace in nature and often created art reflecting the beauties of creation.

After Rebecca married, she moved to the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas in Central California. She continued creating and expanded her work to encompass designing, building, and painting sets and creating costumes for professional musical theater productions. She took painting courses whenever possible. After her retirement, Rebecca was finally able to enroll in Milan Art Institute and achieve her life-long dream of becoming a professional artist.

Rebecca strongly believes, as Picasso said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Her passion is to create paintings that cause the viewer to slow down and wake to the wonders and joys of the world. Rebecca begins each painting with a prayer that it will provide collectors with a place of peace and an inspiration to face the world with a sense of delight. According to Rebecca, “The world holds an abundance of beauty and magic worthy of our delight, but unless our heart and soul are transformed so that we slow down and look for those magical moments, we will miss much of what would bring us happiness.  My desire is that we each live with wonder and joy.”

Rebecca plans to continue to travel and collect her visions of beauty, wonder, and joy to use as inspiration for future paintings. When not roaming the world, she works full time in her studio painting or passing on her artistic talent and skill to her three grandchildren.

“To be an artist is to believe in life.” – Henry Moore
